Front Porch

If you are not aware, the front porch has been recently renovated. Over the years, it had deteriorated due to a design problem. The ground floor porch base has been rebuilt and the columns were either replaced or repaired. Drop by and check out out newly installed front sign and repaired porch.

History Room

We have recently re-organized the 2nd. floor History Room. With the 2 display cases now in the room, we have centralized our rotating display. We have also prepared a slide show for our new digital frame.

Drop by and let us know what you think of the new organization.

Hurricane Hazel

In 2004, on the 50th anniversary of Hurricane Hazel, Heritage York released a special commemorative video (in both VHS and DVD format) with an introduction by local historian, Mike Filey. This special 1-hour video consists of entirely original material using 1954 8mm film and photographs accompanied by personal interviews presenting people's recollections of the disaster. This project attempts to bring an understanding of the event, rather than an account of it.

We are constantly collecting more material.

Copies are available for purchase.
